Terms of Service
Effective date: October 18, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply when you use the website at thegrandvenueandevents.com, submit our inquiry form, book a venue tour, call or text us, or talk to our virtual assistant. "We," "us," and "The Grand Venue" mean The Grand Venue, a sole proprietorship, also doing business as The Grand Venue Events, 816 Taft Hwy, Bakersfield, CA 93307. By using these services you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use them.
1. What these Terms cover (and what they don't)
These Terms cover your use of our website, forms, tour scheduling, and communications. They are not an event contract. Renting the venue, reserving a date, deposits, cancellations, insurance, and everything else about your event are governed by the written event contract that you and The Grand Venue both sign. If these Terms and a signed contract conflict, the signed contract controls.
2. Inquiries and tours
Submitting an inquiry or booking a tour does not reserve a date and does not create a rental agreement. A date is reserved only when a contract is signed and the reservation deposit is paid. Until then, any date may be booked by someone else. Tours are free and carry no obligation to book.
3. Pricing and availability
Prices, packages, and availability shown on our website, in emails, or given by our team or virtual assistant are for general information and can change. Final pricing depends on the date, guest count, and services you choose, and is confirmed in your proposal and contract. If something we told you is wrong because of a typo or system error, we may correct it.
4. Reservation deposit
A $1,500 deposit reserves your date once you have signed the contract. The reservation deposit is non-refundable. Other payment and cancellation terms are set out in your signed contract.
5. Our virtual assistant
Part of our phone line is answered by an AI assistant named Abby. Abby can answer general questions, check whether an event date appears open, and book venue tours. Abby cannot hold or book an event date, take payments, or change contracts. Anything Abby says about availability is confirmed by our team, and nothing she says is a binding offer. Calls with Abby may be recorded and transcribed (see our Privacy Policy).
6. Your information and responsibilities
Please give accurate contact and event details. Don't submit false information, use our forms to send spam or harmful content, attempt to disrupt or break into our systems, or use automated tools to submit forms or bookings. We may block access or cancel a tour booking if we believe a form or booking is fraudulent or abusive.
7. Text messages and email
If you agree to receive texts, we send messages about your inquiry, tours, and event planning. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Consent to texts is not required to inquire or book. Details are in our Privacy Policy. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email.
8. Website content and intellectual property
The photos, videos, text, logos, and design on our website belong to The Grand Venue or its licensors. You may view and share links to the site for personal, non-commercial use. Please don't copy, republish, or use our content or branding for other purposes without written permission.
9. Third-party services and links
Our site and forms use third-party services to run (for example, our scheduling and communications platform, website host, and bot-protection tools). We aren't responsible for other websites we link to or for their privacy practices.
10. Disclaimers
The website and its information are provided "as is." We try to keep everything accurate and available but don't guarantee that the site will be error-free or uninterrupted. Photos and videos are examples and may not show exactly what your event will look like.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, The Grand Venue is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the website, forms, or communications. Our total liability for any claim relating to the website or these services is limited to $100. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law, and nothing here changes liability under a signed event contract.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute about these Terms will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Kern County, California, unless your signed contract says otherwise.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date above shows the latest version. Continuing to use our services after an update means you accept it.
